Adidas create Spider-Man signature shoes for NBA rising star

Young NBA star, Donovan Mitchell, has a Spider-Man themed signature shoe dropping this July.

Donovan Mitchell is an exciting, up and coming talent playing guard for the Utah Jazz. With a nickname like ‘Spida’ it’ll come as no surprise that he’s a massive Spider-Man fan. To celebrate this fandom Adidas are launching a range of Spidey themed shoes.

Dubbed ‘Adidas D.O.N Issue 1’, the shoes will debut over at from July 1st in a traditional ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ red and white colourway.

Red and Blue ‘Amazing Spider-Man’

Bringing more of his personal story to the collection, the name of the shoe forms a motivational acronym. ‘Determination over Negativity’ represents Mitchell’s positive approach to achieving greatness, regardless of your background or circumstances.

Unlike some fandom collaborations there’s not an overload of detail in this set. Each shoe features a tongue with stitched spiderweb detail and embroidered Spider logo.

Three further colourways are to follow, and it’s the colours that really give these sneakers their character.
