Adidas snuck out a Pokémon range of footwear and clothing this month

With very little fanfair Adidas released a collection of Pokémon inspired sneakers and apparel on January 1st. I guess we were too hung over from New Year’s Eve celebrations to notice.

German sports brand Adidas will team up with just about any fandom of cultural relevance these days. Even Pokémon it seems. But this time they dropped a hot collab without much pomp and ceremony. In fact it passed us by all together.

I picked up the story from nerdist.com who report that there are adult and teen ranges available via the adidas.com website. Each age range offers something a little different along a similar theme. But when I checked the UK site, all I was able to find was the teen range for ages 8 to 16 years.

Adidas have based their range around 8-Bit versions of Pokémon that would have been seen when the first video game dropped in 1996.

The range debuted with two styles of sneaker. The first are Advantage shoes featuring everyone’s favourite, Pikachu. These are now out of stock. Still available though are Hoops Mid 2.0 pictured in the lead image which retail for £37.95.

Another highlight of the range is a black tracksuit which features Pokémon within the famous three stripes, Pokémon logos and ‘Pokémon Trainer’ emblazoned on the back. This is available for £42.95.

For the full range, and more is expected to be added, visit adidas.co.uk.
