Aliens: Fireteam – A New Co-Op Shooter Based On The Popular Sci-fi Franchise

Aliens: Fireteam, a new third person survival shooter based on the popular sci-fi franchise.

Those mysterious creatures of the Alien franchise have been represented on our video game screens ever since the first Alien game was created for the early home computers back in the early 1980s.

There have been franchise highs with the excellent Alien: Isolation and the lows with Aliens: Colonial Marines and everything else in between.

Today, Cold Iron Studios in collaboration with 20th Century Games have announced a new third person survival shooter, Aliens: Fireteam.

Taking one of the most popular aspect of the Aliens franchise, Colonial Marines versus the alien creatures, in a game set 23 years after the events of Alien³.

You will take the role of a colonial marine onboard the USS Endeavour, tasked with answering a distress call from the remote outer colonies.

You’ll travel to overrun, abandoned ruins, and traverse strange alien landscapes as you battle enemies across four campaigns with two others or AI teammates through replayable missions.

There will be over 20 enemy types from Xenomorphs to Weyland-Yutani Synthetics. You will need to use cover tactics and team strategy to eradicate these threats which will come through doors and vents, climb around on walls and ceilings, and come at you in the dark.

You will have five character classes to choose from, various customizable weapons and mods, character progression, and advancement systems. There’s also a Challenge Card system that lets you mutate each mission, offering a new experience with different playthroughs.

This sounds like a lot of fun but with no mention of a story, this sounds like an action packed download title rather than something with a sprawling narrative. However, I’m sure a lot of details are still being kept under wraps.

Aliens: Firestorm will release later this year on PC, Sony PlayStation 4 & 5 and Microsoft Xbox One & Series X.
