This first trailer for ‘Avengers: Endgame’ finds the Avengers bruised and battered in the wake of Thanos’ devastating actions.
Marvel have dropped yet another mind blowing trailer on us as we discover that the forthcoming Avengers movie will be titled ‘Endgame’.
Bringing the Marvel cinematic universe, as we know it, to a conclusion, speculation suggests that the film will revolve primarily around the original core Avengers. Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Hulk and Thor all feature in this first trailer.
In contrast to the recent ‘Captain Marvel’ trailer – an action packed affair – we find the Avengers beaten, demoralised and lost in the aftermath of Thanos’ triumph.
But this brief teaser also poses a lot of questions as to who the ultimate saviour of the world could turn out to be. Because we know it’s all gonna be ok, right?
With Tony Stark stranded in space and facing certain death, one would imagine that Iron Man might be the first to encounter the aforementioned Captain Marvel. We saw Nick Fury page the cosmic character at the end of ‘Infinity War’. It makes perfect sense that she might be on hand to save Stark.
But will Captain Marvel be the one to save the Earth and bring back the lost heros? Well, she could be, but there’s a good argument that Scott Lang might also be key to turning around the fortunes of the brave.
[Spoiler] We saw at the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp that Scott Lang evaded Thanos’ cull, as the microscopic hero was in the quantum realm when events took place. What if the quantum realm holds the key to bringing back those that are lost? How did Lang escape from the realm? Something that seemed unlikely at the conclusion of that film.
How about a dark horse? Clint Barton aka Hawkeye was conspicuous in his absence from Infinity War. Could the Avengers least ‘gifted’ hero turn out to be the ace in the pack? Nebula might also prove key to bringing Thanos down considering her family ties to the tyrant.
All we do know for sure at this time is that ‘Avengers: Endgame’ is due in cinemas on the 26th April 2019 in both the U.K. and North America and we can’t wait to close this chapter of the Marvel cinematic universe. Even if we know that losing Steve Rogers will break our hearts.
