Colin Furze’s Star Wars Landspeeder is up for sale on eBay

Raising money for charity, Colin Furze’s Star Wars Landspeeder is on eBay with a starting bid of £50,000.

In aid of the BBC’s Children In Need, mad inventor and self confessed Star Wars super fan, Colin Furze, has built a full-size replica of Luke Skywalker’s infamous X-34 Landspeeder.

Furze has previously built a replica AT-ACT and TIE Silencer. This time around he was challenged by John Boyega and Daisy Ridley (Finn and Rey from the most recent Star Wars films) to re-create Luke’s ride from ‘Star Wars: A New Hope’.

Based on the chassis of a Yamaha golf buggy, the Speeder’s outer shell is crafted from hand-formed sheet steel and completed with a custom poly-carbonate dome windscreen. The interior is fabricated from plywood.

Now the construction is on auction site, eBay, with (at the time of writing) a solitary starting bid of £50,000. So, a little beyond the budget of your average Star Wars fan. But the money is going to a great cause.
