Crystal Maze + Scifi = Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge

A weekly show will see if Young Padawans have what it takes to become a Jedi Knight.

Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge is a new weekly game show for children (both young and old) which will premiere on the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel.

In this weekly show children will get to test their strength, knowledge and bravery in a series of trials to discover which of them has what it takes to become a Jedi Knight.

This looks like just the kind of show I would have loved to have seen whilst chilling out after a day of school. The trailer, which you can watch below, is giving me a serious Crystal Maze vibes.

The Crystal Maze was a popular British television game show where contestants would have to solve four kinds of puzzles within four themed zones to try to win time crystals. The puzzles were arranged into the categories of mental, mystery, physical and Skill.

Actor Ahmed Best, who was the actor Jar Jar Binks from the Star Wars prequels, hosts the show as a new Jedi, Master Kelleran Beq. He will guide the children through three rounds of trials to see who will become a Jedi Knight and wield a lightsaber.

Best will be joined by a protocol droid, AD-3 (voiced by Mary Holland) and Sam Witwer, who will voice the dark side of the Force.

Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge will premiere on StarWarsKids.com and the official Star Wars Kids YouTube channel on June 3rd with a double opener.
