Darkly funny and gratuitously violent. Action/comedy, Guns Akimbo has us wondering what the fuck happened to Harry Potter?
Daniel Radcliffe will never shake off his inextricable links to the Harry Potter films. And why would he? The money he earned in his early career now affords him the luxury of picking his roles, like the fantastic comedy, Swiss Army Man. ‘Guns Akimbo’ once again proves the point.
The film has an indie feel to it and visually riffs on Edgar Wright’s ‘Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World’. Radcliffe stars as Miles, a video game developer whose internet trolling lands him in a whole heap of trouble.
After a violent attack he wakes to discover that pistols have been bolted to the bones of his hands. Whether he likes it or not, he’s forced to take part in an illegal death-match to be streamed live.
Daniel Radcliffe stars alongside Samara Weaving (Ash Vs. The Evil Dead) as Nix, Mile’s deadly opponent. The film toured the festival circuit towards the end of last year and is scheduled for a U.S. release on the 28th February.
Despite being a part British production no U.K. release date has been announced at this time.
