Disney and Vans collaborate on a project to celebrate the ninetieth birthday of Mickey Mouse.
The Mouse turns ninety and to celebrate Vault by Vans is a project that brings together four unique artists to create artwork for a limited range of footwear and apparel.
John Van Hamersveld, Mister Cartoon, Geoff McFetridge and Taka Hayashi have been recruited to create one of a kind designs that celebrate Disney’s original mascot, Mickey Mouse.
Designs will feature on short sleeved tees and OG Sk8-Hi LX.
Van Hamersveld offers a Southern Californian cultural influence with his bold and colourful take on vintage Mickey.
In contrast tattoo artist Mr Cartoon has chosen a monochrome style with Mickey driving a classic automobile.
Canadian illustrator McFetridge takes his design into surrealist territory with a minimalist piece that echoes Mickey Mouse of past and present.
Finally Hayashi takes a darker perspective with art that cleverly combines a skeleton into a Mickey Mouse hot air balloon design.
The Disney X Vans collaboration range will retail at a price starting at $78 and up to $100 from specific Vault by Vans accounts globally from August 25th.
