Dune could be the film that gets people back in cinemas

The wait for Denis Villeneuve’s big screen adaptation of Dune may well have been worth it. An official main trailer teases an epic sci-fi adventure.

Denis Villeneuve’s big-screen adaptation of Frank Herbert’s acclaimed novel, Dune, could prove to be the movie that encourages sci-fi fans back to cinemas.

Dune was originally scheduled to debut in cinemas in December 2020. But like many films destined for theatres last year, the release was understandably delayed. Studios hoped that the pandemic would pass and cinema-goers might be able to enjoy their big-budget films on the big screen as intended. Better still, recoup some of that big-budget.

Alas, the pandemic is here to stay – for the foreseeable future at least. But cinema doors are open once more and judging from this new trailer, Villeneuve’s latest directorial masterpiece might prove enticing enough to get bums on seats once again.

Though the film will be simultaneously released on HBO Max for home viewing in the U.S. this freshly released official main trailer certainly suggests that Dune is a film best suited to a big screen. We’re talking IMAX for this one! With stunning expansive sets, spectacular special effects and a beautiful, star-studded cast, why would you settle for anything less than a carton of popcorn a bucket of drink, great company and an epic sci-fi action/adventure on the big screen?

Dune is now expected to reach cinema screens on the 22nd October 2021 in the U.K. and U.S. Canada gets the film even earlier on October 1st. Other regions should check IMdB.
