Get animated about Star Trek: Lower Decks – Trailer

Here’s the first trailer for the new Star Trek animated series, Lower Decks. In the depths of Star Fleet’s least important vessel, red shirts lurk work.

Created for CBS All Access, Mike McMahan (Rick and Morty / Solar Opposites) has developed a new animated Star Trek comedy called ‘Lower Decks.

Shying away from Trek’s usual emphasis on Captains and Commanders, ‘Lower Decks’ will instead tell the story of the lowest ranking crew-members aboard one of Star Fleet’s most insignificant starships, the U.S.S. Cerritos.

Follow the exploits of ensigns Mariner, Boimler, Rutherford and Tendi as they tend to such important tasks as… taking out the holodeck trash. The characters are voiced by Tawney Newsome, Jack Quaid, Noël Wells and Eugene Cordero respectively.

Star Trek: Lower Decks premieres on CBS All Access this August 6th in the U.S. There’s no news where the show will be aired in the U.K. at this time. Recent Star Trek shows have been split with Discovery finding a home on Netflix whilst Picard debuted on Amazon.
