Hellboy Turns 20 | #HellboyDay

From humble beginnings to two motion pictures, Hellboy has become a fan favourite over twenty years.

Beginning life as an eight page feature in Dark Horse comics San Diego Comic-Con 2004 special Mike Mignola’s career defining character has gone on to become a fan favourite spanning twenty years with two silver screen outings to boot.

Comic shops across the world marked the date by giving out a free sampler with this week’s comics that features an new story the character’s creator, Mike Mignola alongside Fabio Moon and Dave Stewart, ‘The Coffin Man’. In addition you can enjoy ‘The Ghoul’ and ‘Another Day At The Office’.

In celebration Dark Horse have designated today as Hellboy day. A new deluxe, oversized, hardcover collection of┬áMignola’s favorite covers and illustrations in gallery style, from his first drawing of the character through twenty years of publishing is also now available in shops titled Hellboy The First Twenty Years.
