Introducing Rex Dangervest | The LEGO Movie 2 – Trailer #2

Galaxy defending, archaeologist, cowboy and raptor trainer Rex Dangervest joins The LEGO Movie 2

The LEGO Movie was a brilliant film and a huge success for Warner Bros, so the sequel, due to open next year, has a lot to live up to.

This latest trailer plays out the same plot points as our first look back in June, however, a new character has been introduced, the aforementioned Rex Dangervest.

If you hadn’t of guessed, like our hero Emmet, Rex is also voiced by actor Chris Pratt. Rex’s introduction is also based on Mr. Pratt as well. He’s played a live-action character matching each one of Rex’s characteristics.

We have

  • Galaxy defending archaeologist – Star Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy
  • Cowboy – Joshua Faraday from The Magnificent Seven
  • Raptor trainer – Owen Grady from the latest Jurassic Park series

The plot of the new film is set five years after the original. Finn’s father has allowed his younger sister to play with him in the basement. This turns Bricksburg into a post-apocalyptic wasteland due to the invasion of Duplo characters.

Everyone has toughened up to deal with the situation except for Emmet who still believes everything is awesome. This is set to change when an intergalactic invader known as Sweet Mayhem arrives to join forces with the Duplo invaders and take over the Legoverse.

The LEGO Movie: The Second Part will open in the US and UK on the 8th of February. For all other territories, check the IMDb listings
