Better known for starring roles in The Matrix and John Wick movies, Hollywood nice guy, Keanu Reeves, has turned his hand to writing a comic book.
Rehearsals for the fourth Matrix film have been temporarily put on hold due to Covid-19. Rather than sit around and twiddle his thumbs, Keanu Reeves has found a way to keep busy.
The Hollywood actor is in Berlin where he should be rehearsing for the Matrix 4. Instead he’s putting pen to paper on a new twelve-part comic book series called BRZRKR. Alongside co-author, Matt Kindt, Reeves has started work on the book which is due to be published by Boom! Studios in October this year. BRZRKR will be illustrated by Alessandro Vitti.
Reeves describes the comic as “action-packed and hyperviolent”. The story is that of a The Berserker. Half-man, the character was born 80,000 years ago as the son of a war god. Readers will witness battles through the ages as The Berserker lives up to his father’s violent legacy. However, his human side will divide his convictions.
Coincidentally (or not) the character bears an uncanny resemblance to Mr Reeves. The actor has also expressed an interest in playing The Berserker on-screen. Something that could happen thanks a first-look deal that exists between Boom! Studios and Netflix.
Issue one of twelve is due on comic shop shelves this October 7th.
