LEGO have revealed their glorious 1989 Batmobile set as Tim Burton’s Batman movie celebrates thirty years.
Most people have s favourite Batmobile. There have been a handful of iconic iterations of Batman’s ride during the 80 year history of the character. But few would disagree that one of the most distinctive is the sleek version seen in Tim Burton’s 1989 ‘Batman’ movie.
With the film now thirty years old, LEGO are immortalising the 1989 Batmobile in brick form. Made up of 3306 pieces, this latest LEGO Batmobile is a beast, measuring 60cm (almost 2 foot) long. In order to create an authentic looking cockpit a brand new sliding, wrap-around windscreen has had to be manufactured. Large wheels feature the Bat-Symbol.
The set will come with three exclusive mini-figs, not available anywhere else. Naturally there’s Batman himself, for the first time with a new cape and Bat-suit that more accurately replicates the one worn by Michael Keaton in the film. Jack Nicholson’s Joker and Vicki Vale, as played by Kim Basinger in the film, make up the trio.
You don’t have long to save up. The 1989 Batmobile set will be in stores and online from November 29th costing £219.00. Not a problem if you’re a millionaire playboy who dabbles in vigilantism on the side. For the rest of us it looks like the credit card is taking the strain.
