Star Wars star, John Boyega, receives support via the Star Wars twitter account who declare the actor “Our Hero”.
“I don’t know if I’m going to have a career after this, but fuck that,” shouted a defiant John Boyega in Hyde Park to the gathered masses. The actor, who hails from Peckham, South London, took centre stage at a Black Lives Matter rally to deliver a passionate speech.
Thousands had gathered in Hyde Park to protest the recent killing of George Floyd whilst in Police custody in Minneapolis. Visibly angry and shaken, Boyega stood tall to deliver a powerful speech that honoured many black lives lost to violence and brutality in the U.S and U.K.
Putting his instinct to stand up and be counted ahead of his career, the actor’s actions have been widely reported across news networks and social media. “I need you to understand how painful it is to be reminded every day that your race means nothing” he pleaded. “We are the physical representation of our support for George Floyd“.
LucasFilm via the ‘Star Wars’ twitter feed have been quick to throw their support behind Boyega who played Finn in the last three instalments of the sci-fi saga.
