My favourite South London Hip-Hop duo, ‘Too Many T’s’ have increased their stock exponentially since I first saw them in a shitty Streatham pub more than a few years ago.
It seems bizarre that after all this time, the cheeky pairing of Leon Rhymes and Standaloft, aka ‘Too Many T’s’, are now, only just on the cusp of releasing their debut album. There have been a few mixtapes along the way to keep their ever increasing fanbase stocked up on upbeat hip-hop but it’s their live set that really shows the duo’s incredible talent.
Live they’re as tight as a you’ll ever expect to hear from a rap performance. Throwing lyrics at each other and finishing each other’s lines in a way that’s very reminiscent of the Beastie Boys at their finest, which is why it’s no surprise that the Huffington Post compared them to the New Yorkers going as far as to pronounce Too Many T’s the U.K’s equivalent.
A busy summer schedule of festivals up and down the land and across the English channel into Europe means that their exceptional performances will only have moved to strengthen their following, and now those supporters have the pair’s debut album in sight.
To tease the new release Too Many T’s have dropped a single from it called Diamonds /Gold which is produced by Odjbox & Flux Pavilion.
