Marvel Studios @ SDCC | Doctor Strange Trailer 2

Doctor Strange looks batshit crazy, in a good way – as in, it looks incredible and mind bending all at the same time and I can’t wait for October.

Marvel is about to take its fans on a different kind of adventure. Many non-comic readers will be comfortable with the superhero concept by now and even took to a lesser known cosmic title in the form of Guardians of the Galaxy. But how many are prepared for the dark and magical side of the Marvel Universe? With a trailer like this I’m betting people will be more than a little curious about Doctor Strange.

Great casting goes a long way with a film like this and Benedict Cumberbatch seems to choose his roles well. The British actor known for starring as the titular character in the television series Sherlock and as Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness is cast as Doctor Stephen Strange in Marvel’s first foray into their magic and mystical side.

Acting aside, just from the trailers, the movie looks like a cinematic spectacle with mind-bending CGI reminiscent of Christopher Nolan’s Inception where cities appear to fold in on themselves.

The story is that of the aforementioned Doctor Stephen Strange, a talented yet conceited surgeon who suffers a serious accident that destroys his career. He is offered a new lease of life when a sorcerer (Tilda Swinton) shows him there is more to the universe than he could have possibly imagined.

Doctor Strange makes its way onto U.K. screens from the 28th of October and into U.S. cinemas on the 4th of November. For other regions check the mystical IMDB for release dates.

Synopsis |¬†Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilising a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe.
