Marvel’s The Punisher returns for a second season this January

Netflix have revealed the date that Marvel’s The Punisher will return to the streaming service. But how long before they cancel it?

Following the cancellation of Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Daredevil, it feels like it’s just a matter of time before Marvel’s other Netflix exclusive shows incur the same fate.

Regardless, there is at least a second season the The Punisher to enjoy and Netflix have released a video to reveal the release date.

Jon Bernthal returns as the anti-hero Frank Castle. A veteran marine turned vigilante following the murder of his wife and children.

Ben Barnes reprises his role as Billy Russo, albeit as a much darker and damaged version. Fans have long expected Russo to become The Punisher’s well-known nemesis, Jigsaw.

For better or worse, the show’s creators have opted not to bring the comic book version of the character to screen. Instead viewers will witness a more grounded villain whose damage is more psychological than physical.

About The Punisher | After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.
