MC Frontalot’s new album, ‘Net Split or, the Fathomless Heartbreak of Online Itself’, looks at his, and our, relationship with the internet. His new video for ‘Internet Sucks’ suggests it’s complicated.
MC Frontalot’s most recent album ‘Net Split or, the Fathomless Heartbreak of Online Itself’ was officially released in March this year. It was also officially available to stream via Front’s bandcamp page since December last year which was the original release date, but then it wasn’t except for people who pre-ordered it who still got their physical copy before Christmas but also there was a vinyl copy coming out too.
It’s complicated. Much like the veteran talisman of Nerdcore hip-hop’s relationship with the internet, it seems. His latest video is for the albums opening track ‘Internet Sucks’. Visually tumultuous, the visual provides an accurate depiction of the conflict presented in the song’s lyrics.
Frontalot laments his dependence and increasing loathing of the world wide web. The theme is present throughout the album where songs like ‘Memes Are Stupid’ and ‘Extremely Online’ continue the exposition of our online lives.
‘Net Split or, the Fathomless Heartbreak of Online Itself’ is available on all popular music services and to download via bandcamp.
