Muse – Algorithm | Video

Tron, The Matrix and other classic sci-fi movies inspire the new video from Muse for the track ‘Algorithm’.

With their latest video for the track ‘Algorithm’, you’ll find the continuation of a loose narrative inspired by classic science fiction movies and imagery.

The English band’s last video for the song titled ‘Pressure’ drew obvious inspiration from ‘Back to the Future’ as well as cues from ‘Ghostbusters’ and horror films like ‘Critters’.

As with the last visual, actor Terry Crews stars as a recurring character trapped in a simulation. In this video we get to enjoy a classic workout montage, some retro computing action and a motorcycle sprint that echoes imagery seen in ‘Tron’. Inspiration from other iconic sci-fi movies include ‘The Matrix’ and possibly ‘The Last Starfighter’.

The video concludes with a singular arcade cabinet showing images of the band in the style of ‘Max Headroom’.

The new album from Muse, titled ‘Simulation Theory’ is now available digitally and physically from the usual places you find you music.
