Blasting off this December, NASA and Adidas collaborate on two colourways based on the NMD R1 silhouette.
Adidas are launching two new takes on their NMD R1 silhouette this December in collaborate with NASA. Contrasting colourways echo the darkness of space versus the shining white of a spacecraft or suit.
Available either in white or black with colourful accents, each carries transparent details and reflective strips. More like a spacesuit, the ‘Footwear White’ colourway features an orange trefoil on the heal and NASA branding on the tongue and insole.
In stark contrast, the second pair in the pack carries a ‘Core Black’ base colour with red accent and trefoil. NASA branding can also be found on the tongue and insole here.
Whilst managing to look space-aged, neither version of Adidas’ popular running shoe screams “NASA”, but then again, in space no one can here you scream, right? In my opinion the white version carry greater appeal with the white and orange contrasts giving them the edge.
Each pair will cost $140 (£104) and are due to drop on December 6th. Check out adidas.com.
