Submit a beat for Lars’ new album.
It’s another week and there’s more news from MC Lars. First up, Lars has issued and open call for beat submissions for his forthcoming new release the Zombie Dinosaur LP. On his website he posted the following:
On every album, I try to set a few tracks aside to give young, up-and-coming producers a chance to showcase their musical talent. It’s always fun for me to rap over different styles and these kind of online musical collaborations are always surprising and fun.
While I will be producing the majority of the music on this album with my current team, I wanted to post this as open call for beat submissions to see what you guys would share. Who knows? You could be the next Dre and I’d love to help you get your start!
Please send your THREE BEST unclaimed beats in high resolution mp3 format to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Much of the Zombie Dinosaur LP will be made in the UK.
Lars has also revealed that he will be fulfilling a long standing ambition of his to record an album in the UK. On facebook this week he posted:
Thanks to a fortunate series of events lining up, I found out today that I will get to record the majority of the new album in England this summer! I’ve always dreamed of finishing a whole album over there and now it’s finally happening.
Akira The Don to perform one last time with Lars in London.
And finally on the MC Lars front, Along with Malibu Shark Attack, Akira The Don will be performing in support of Lars on May 19th at Surya on the Pentonville Road in London. The pair last teamed up for a tour four or five years ago alongside MC Chris and Weerd Science. It was in a south Wimbledon pub that I first met ATD on that tour and grabbed a signed copy of his album Living In The Future. The gig should wind up being the final live performance as he kills off Akira The Don stating that he’s taken that musical journey as far as it can go. He moves on to focus on his new project titled Midnitemen.
Lars dropped a verse on Akira The Don’s Living In The Future 2.5 which also features Scroobius Pip, Big Narstie and Eddie Argos.
UK rapper B-Type is proving his game gets better with age on this new release titled Lavos (My Parents Favorite Music Cover) which is available to download via soundcloud.
