PlayStation Classic Is Coming To Stores This December

Sony Playstation have revealed the news that their OG console is being shrunk, loaded with 20 classic games and shoved into stores in time for Christmas.

Jumping onto the mini retro console bandwagon, Sony have announced that the PlayStation Classic will be available to buy this December, just in time for Christmas.

Sony’s first foray into the home console market proved to be a huge success, the legacy of which continues today as the PS4 battles for dominance in a multi-million pound industry.

Following the staggering demand for Nintendo’s classic version of the NES and subsequent SNES mini consoles, other companies have decided to follow in their footsteps. SNK recently released a slightly different take on the theme with their NeoGeo Mini and SEGA are working on a classic MegaDrive too, though it seems that won’t see the light of day until 2019.

Sony’s classic console is a scaled down version of the original PlayStation. Almost indistinguishable in design, the icon grey units will come packed with two consoles. Powered by USB the PlayStation Classic will connect to your television via HDMI.

Twenty games will come pre-installed on the device including Ridge Racer Type 4, Final Fantasy VII and Tekken 3. The full list of titles is yet to be revealed.

The PlayStation Classic will be available to buy from December 3rd and will retail for £89.99.
