Director Matt Reeves unveils Robert Pattinson as the Batman in this short test footage.
Matt Reeves is currently behind the camera lens directing the latest incarnation of Batman with Robert Pattinson taking up the role as the caped crusader.
Principal photography already began in London last month with Colin Farrell, who plays Oswald Cobblepot, already spotted on set amongst a variety of vehicles in Gotham City livery.
Reeves posted a short video to Vimeo simply entitled The Batman – Camera Test. In this one minute teaser, the Batman is revealed with a look at his chest armour with a slow pan up to the cowl, but not enough that we get to see the ears.
The tease, however, is quite dark and either filmed under red light or a filter has been applied. That doesn’t stop the fans however breaking out copies of Photoshop to try and improve the image.
Also, that isn’t some piece of random music that Reeves has attached but part of the new score to the film composed by Michael Giacchino.
It’s very likely that this video was released as principle photography will soon be outside with Batman. Warner Bros. would want the first reveal of the new Batman to be official rather than from a long telephoto lens from the paparazzi.
The Batman will open in cinemas June 25, 2021.
