Sequel Or Remake? Flatliners Has A First Trailer

Twenty seven years after the first ‘Flatliners’ film hit cinemas a new take on the story is revealed in this first trailer.

In 1990 Kiefer Sutherland starred alongside Julia Roberts, Kevin Bacon and William Baldwin in ‘Flatliners’, an intriguing story of medical students flirting with the afterlife. Twenty seven years later and there’s some ambiguity as to whether the 2017 version is a remake or a sequel.

This first trailer looks very much like a reboot of the original film following the same beats and premise, but the reprisal of his role as Nelson led Kiefer Sutherland to reveal last year that the movie is in fact a sequel.

Ellen Page and Diego Luna are the most notable of the cast where five medical students become obsessed with what lies in the afterlife. Their experiences with returning from the dead results in disturbing consequences.
