Star Trek: Prodigy brings the final frontier to Nickelodeon


There’s another Star Trek series heading our way, and this one is aimed firmly at children. ‘Star Trek: Prodigy’ is an animated series coming to Nickelodeon.

As the Star Trek universe continues to expand, the sci-fi classic will boldly go where it’s never gone before. Aimed squarely at a young audience, ‘Star Trek: Prodigy’ is an animated show heading to the popular kids network.

CBS has announced that the series is being developed by Kevin and Dan Hagemen whose writing credits include Trollhunters, The LEGO Movie and Hotel Transylvania.

The plot will follow a group of teenagers who stumble across a derelict Starfleet vessel. The teens embark on a mission in search of adventure, meaning and salvation.

How the show will fit into the Trek timeline is so far unknown as is a release date. What we do know is that the show will debut on Nickelodeon next year in 2021.
