The Royal Mail have announced a commemorative set of Star Trek stamps that celebrates some of the sci-fi saga’s most iconic characters.
From the original series through to ‘Discovery’, many of Star Trek’s most iconic characters are immortalised on a new commemorative set of stamps from the Royal Mail.
Since 1969, Star Trek has captured the imagination of science fiction fans both on the small screen and in the cinema. During this time the series and films have spawned numerous iconic characters.
The collection pays tribute, naturally, to the Captains of each ship represented though various on-screen iterations. From William Shatner’s portrayal of Captain James T. Kirk, through to Patrick Stewarts’ famous representation of Captain Jean Luc Picard in ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ and beyond. Iconic leaders from ‘Enterprise’, ‘Voyager’, ‘Deep Space Nine’ and ‘Discovery’ are also depicted.
Logically, the twelve-stamp set includes Leonard Nimoy as Doctor Spock. Diana Troy, as played by Marina Surtis, and Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) from ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ also feature.
Images of each character have been created by London-based artist Freya Betts.
Various sets, part sets and enlarged prints are available to pre-order now from royalmail.com. The Star Trek collection will be released on November 13th.
