A Stunning New Alien: Covenant Poster Channels Giger

The latest poster for ‘Alien: Covenant’ Ridley Scott’s ‘Alien’ prequel borrows from the feel of H.R Giger’s iconic style.

A stunning poster for ‘Alien: Covenant’ appeared on the Alien Movie UK facebook page on Friday. The dark visual pays tribute to the terrifying Xenomorphs synonymous with the Alien series of films.

The artistic style of the poster is vaguely reminiscent of the original classic designs for Ridley Scott’s 1979 introduction to the series ‘Alien’.¬†Created by H.R. Giger, a Swiss surrealist painter, the concept art for Alien was dark, eerie and uniquely stylised.

Following a subdued reception for Ridley Scott’s last tie-in film, ‘Prometheus’, scott appears to have returned to a more familiar aesthetic for his latest instalment of the saga.
