Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles | Motion Comic

I a piece of slick marketing for the forthcoming new Turtles movie, this motion comic hints that the legend has a mystical past.

Inspired by the Japanese legend of the Yokai this arty motion comic may be far removed from the marketing we’ve seen so far for the latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot but it’s interesting and could work well as an accompanying comic series?

“Long before the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles captured the hearts of people around the world, there were the Kappa Yokai, mythical creatures summoned by the spirits of honour, wisdom, courage and brotherhood. The Legend of the Yokai is an exhibition of global artists, featuring pieces inspired by these principles and the four heroes that embody them.”

Check out legendoftheyokai.com for a glimpse at some of the artwork inspired by the legend.

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.
