Terminator: Resistance, a new video game set in the timeline of the first two films, is set for release later in the year.
There has been a long list of Terminator video games ever since the original film was released in 1984.
Possibly every angle has been covered in the video games, there have been film adaptations, original stories set in the future war and even a crossover with Robocop.
In recent times though, the Terminator franchise has been rather quiet in terms of video games. The last one I remember playing was a tie-in with 2003’s Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines on the GameCube, a rather lacklustre affair.
Now British based developers Reef Entertainment and Polish studio Tyron are readying Terminator: Resistance for release later in the year.
Set thirty years after judgement day in an apocalyptic Los Angeles, the film continues the storyline established by the films Terminator 1 & 2. Here’s the official description:
“Despite the fact that Jacob is just a private, he’ll soon discover that he’s been targeted by the latest threat from SKYNET and marked for termination!
“SKYNET may be destined to lose this war, but at what cost to Jacob? Experience the events leading up to the decisive final battle, smash SKYNET’s Defence Grid and help decide the fate of mankind in the war against the machines!”
Terminator: Resistance will be released on Xbox One, PS4 and PC from November.
