The Banana Splits Make A Horrific Comeback!

The Banana Splits Make A Horrific Comeback!

The Banana Splits Movie has a strong ‘Five Nights At Freddy’s’ vibe.

The Banana Splits were the live action gang that made up The Banana Splits Adventure Hour. First broadcast in 1968, The Banana Splits were a musical band consisting of a dog, Fleagle, Bingo, a gorilla, Drooper, a lion and finally an elephant called Snork.

These costumed characters had fun-filled adventures as part of The Banana Splits Adventure Hour which was interspersed with animated cartoons.

The whole show was the brainchild of producers William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. The two producers had a lifetime of creating cartoons and entertainment for children and are famous for animated shows such as The Flintstones, The Jetsons and Captain Caveman.

Broadcast on Saturday mornings upon its initial US run, the show has a well remembered and famous theme tune.

The Banana Splits have returned in this new film that’s heading straight to DVD and Bluray. However, this version is definitely not for the children.

A young boy has been invited to a recording of the Banana Splits Show but as the night progresses, the body count increases.

The premise of the film obviously has several similarities with the Five Nights At Freddy’s franchise. In this franchise of video games, the protagonist must survive a night at the Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza restaurant where animatronic characters come alive and a become homicidal at night.

The Banana Splits Movie will be released on DVD, Blu-ray and broadcast on the Syfy channel.
