The X-Files Are Reopened | The Truth Is Still Out There

The X-Files return. Prepare to get nostalgic as Mulder and Scully team up once more for a six part event.

We’re mere days away from the return of the X-Files as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully return¬†to the small screen in their quest for the truth in a special six part mini series. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprise their roles as the extraterrestrial investigator and his sceptic co-worker, respectively.

This new trailer reveals more than expected with actual footage of a flying saucer crashing (Though we have no context as to under what circumstances this happens as yet) and the notalgia wells up as we see FBI Agents Mulder and Scully return to their former basement office¬†which became instantly recognisable throughout the original series run for Mulder’s ‘I want to believe’ poster on the wall. Personally I would have preferred not to have seen that iconic poster in this trailer as the reveal would have been a nice moment in the series for long-term fans, alas it’s there.

The new X-Files Event series will be shown on Fox in the U.S. on January 24th with fans in the U.K. having to wait until some time in February where the show will air on (Non extra) terrestrial Channel Five. No broadcast date has been scheduled at this time.
