Undone, are celebrating the success of their Batman 80th anniversary watch with the launch of the new Batman: Quantum timepiece.
If you’ve read any of our articles on Undone watches this year you’ll know that the company delivers high-quality products, suitable for everyday use and subtly themed. They incorporate design elements that might go unnoticed to most, but to the discerning fan, these little touches are what make Undone’s collections special.
The latest addition to their DC Comics character range is the ‘Batman: Quantum’. Inspired by the success of their Batman 80th anniversary timepiece, Undone are rolling our a new product that wouldn’t look out of place in the Dark Knight’s arsenal of gadgets.
‘Quantum’ comes in two variations. A standard version is finished with a titanium casing. Meanwhile the The ‘Black Edition’ comes with an additional DLC (diamond-like-carbon) coating and is limited to 500 pieces worldwide.
Both feature a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal dome and self-winding mechanism capable of a power reserve worth 41 hours.
Design cues for the casing are taken from the Tumbler Batmobile and angular elements of Batman’s armour as seen in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. The watch face is semi-transparent allowing the inner workings to be seen underneath. The face also carries indices that bear a resemblance to the Tumbler’s jet engine.
Like Batman, the watch comes to life at night with a clever ice-blue luminous detect-a-scope radar. This is where the subtle placement of the Bat-symbol can most prominently be seen. The symbol also features on the watch dial and underside of the casing.
‘Batman: Quantum’ launches today. The ‘Black Edition’ is priced at £679.00 and is limited to 500 numbered pieced worldwide. The standard edition is priced at £553.00.
