Vin Diesel is Bloodshot in this latest comic book adaptation from Sony

Vin Diesel plays Ray Garrison aka ‘Bloodshot’ in Sony’s adaption of Valiant Comics’ story of a soldier brought back from the dead.

‘Bloodshot’ is the latest superhero to leap from comic book pages to the big screen courtesy of Sony. Vin Diesel plays the titular superhero, a soldier brought back from the dead. Killed in action, Ray Garrison is reincarnated as a super soldier with regenerative nanocomputers infused into his blood.

With RST controlling his body and mind, reality becomes blurred. Now Bloodshot must not only fight with his body, he needs to fight to determine what is real and what isn’t.

Bloodshot first appeared in comics in Novemeber 1992 with a cameo in ‘Eternal Warrior #4‘. The character has gone on to attract a significant following as a mainstay in the Valiant Comics line-up.

Fans of the comics may not be thrilled though. It’s evident from this first trailer that the filmmakers have veered, aesthetically at least, from the source material. The casting of Vin Diesel provides an actor with the right physique, but blatantly lacking the character’s trademark hairstyle.
