Warner Bros. Uploads The Batmobile Documentary For Free!

Discover the history and stories of TV and film’s most iconic vehicles, the Batmobile. From the early days through to the Tumbler.

Warner Bros. have uploaded their one-hour documentary about the history of the Batmobile. This was originally a live stream that was accompanied by tweets from director Kevin Smith but is still available to watch on YouTube.

Created in 2012 as part of the promotion for the final part of director Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, this documentary covers the history all of all the on-screen Batmobiles up until that point.

There are interviews with the directors of the Batman films, Tim Burton, Joel Schumacher and Christopher Nolan as well as the dedicated hard-working crews that built and drove these amazing vehicles.

The documentary also has some great stories to reveal such as, do you know why the 1989 sleek Tim Burton Batmobile has a sliding canopy? The designers forgot to add in a conventional door! Or here’s something that you can’t really see in the film, the Batmobile from Batman Forever has the bat symbol cut into the tyre tread!
