Wordburglar – NARC Hi-Score (In Nintendo Power) | Video

You friendly, neighbourhood Wordburglar actually got the NARC Hi-Score in Nintendo Power, now immortalised in an 8-Bit Video.

In an age before the internet and before Wordburglar was Wordburglar, a young, avid video gamer set about achieving the hi-score for an obscure NES cartridge called NARC.

There’s a happy ending. That kid achieved his ambition and Nintendo Power published the proof in page 77 of volume 23.  Now the story is retold in this awesome 8-Bit video animated by Toronto Director and game designer Rosemary Brennan.

‘NARC Hi-Score (In Nintendo Power)’ is the latest track from Wordburglar’s most recent album Rapplicable Skills to get the visual treatment. Production comes from Coins (aka Peter Project) who provides a distinctive 8-Bit, Chiptune, Hip-Hop flavour.

The album Rapplicable Skills is available to stream or download for a very reasonable $10 (CD $12 plus shipping) from Wordburglar’s bandcamp page. Fans of vinyl can also order a limited edition 7″ copy from blackbuffalorecords.ca.
